Some of our younger customers have been asking me what these John Pound collaboration tees are all about. So here we go. For this series, Stussy went back into their archives and dug up some of their most classic ads and had John Pound re-work them. Here they are below with the classic ads:
As for the artist, John Pound, those of you old enough to remember will recognize his artwork instantly. John Pound was the original artist for the first series of Garbage Pail Kids trading cards that were released by the Topps Trading card company. Each card was actually a sticker that featured a Garbage Pail Kid character, with some comical abnormality or suffering some terrible fate, and a humorous, word-play name. Garbage Pail Kids became so popular that eventually a movie was released in 1987! These are sure to bring back some fond memories.
